Here are some things I’d like to share with you today:

• Exploring power, culture, & the history of cities through present-day photo recreations of old postcards.

• Nature – a health prescription. I love this medical-style ‘commercial‘ for nature.
• Art, but make it sports…
• If Seeing the World Helps Ruin It, Should We Stay Home? In the age of global warming, travelling — by plane, boat or car — is a fraught choice. And yet the world beckons.
• It is irrelevant that this story takes place in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, three weeks out to sea, thousands of miles still to row. It could be a scorching desert. Or Greenland. • Cancel your Xmas shopping! Don’t buy any of my books.
  Buy the new book from the Rough Stuff Fellowship instead for anyone who loves adventure and cycling. Its depiction of 70 years of joyful adventuring is wonderful. Weirdly enough I also plugged them 50 newsletters ago (see below). They are also great to follow on Instagram: @rsfarchive.
• Detailed notes on hundreds of non-fiction books, compiled by Derek Sivers. His book Anything You Want is fantastic.
• A poster of British leaves to download for free was very popular when I shared it on Twitter.
• Learn to tie more knots. Very satisfying.
• ‘Tis the season for Antarctic expeditions. A super little film about Union Glacier Camp.

• I am regularly grateful that when I cycled round the world there was no expectation to share the experience via social media every day, nor did I have any interest in filming it. However I did really enjoy these confessions of an amateur bikepacker which brought back many happy memories for me.
• ‘The Rough-Stuff Fellowship’ is the oldest off-road cycling club in the world and I LOVE its photography archive. They’re also publishing a beautiful book.
• Two books I really enjoy: Atlas Obscura, ‘a guide to the world’s strange and wondrous side’ (also on Instagram) and Atlas Obscura for Kids.
